LEMON
Currently, Spain is the main lemon-producing country in the Mediterranean basin and it is also the main fresh fruit exporter
The quality of our products is supported by the preference for consumption of Spanish fresh fruit and juices throughout Europe. Thanks to the close proximity of farms the processing plant, lemons leave a very low carbon footprint. Additionally, the fruits accepted by our quality team are sourced from those lemon orchard that undergo meticulous cultivation and processing, ensuring an optimal balance of quality, environmental responsibility, and social impact.
Lemons have been cultivated in Murcia since the 15th century, due to favourable conditions given by the Mediterranean climate wich make this region an ideal area for its cultivation, especially along the entire lowland of the Segura river.
The indigeneus varieties of the Region of Murcia are Fino and Verna, representing more than 95% of the total lemon crops in Spain.
When we talk about our raw material and mainly lemons, we must take into account that they represent 80% of our total annual processing volume.
Among the lemons we process, which can be organic or conventional, we have the following varieties:
Lemon Fino
A widely extended variety in Spain and very well adapted to the microclimate of the Spanish Levante, it is a fruit with great yield and privileged organoleptic characteristics. The Lemon Fino is mainly characterized by its fragrance and its greenish notes in its essential oils.
Lemon Verna
A native species of Spain and mainly widely spread in the Murcia region. A fruit with great popularity in the fresh market and that has great resistance and duration. It is a fruit with less acidity and fragrance compared to Lemon Fino.
