CONVENTIONAL
AND ORGANIC
MANDARIN

The production of mandarin and clementine in Spain extends throughout the Mediterranean coast from Almería to Barcelona. Mandarin trees are very resistant to thermal variations however, their precious fruits require more carefulness.

Tangerines and clementines are winter fruits, with harvesting and processing typically starting from October until February.

The harvesting season for this type of fruit is very short and rushed.

In some countries, clementines are not differentiated from mandarins: in German it is usually called “Mandarine”. However, it should not be confused with similar fruits such as the popular satsuma, which is another name for the Japanese mikan.

MANDARIN AND CLEMENTINE

Unlike the mandarin, the clementine is a hybrid citrus fruit that arises from the combination of mandarin and bitter orange which results in a distinctive sour and sweet combined taste.
